The Busanga Hydropower Station in the DRC, operated and managed by Sinohydro, has a total investment of USD 656 million, with an installed capacity of 240 MW and a designed average annual power output of 1.331 billion kWh, accounting for approximately one-tenth of the DRC’s total electricity generation. It is the first large-scale modern hydropower station in the DRC that is built entirely with Chinese standards, equipment, and technology. Currently, the company is planning to build a new 240 MW photovoltaic power station, aiming to achieve a complementary synergy between hydropower and solar energy, and to establish an integrated green energy development system in the DRC.
